Glass Reinforced Baffle
The ultimate upgrade for Grado/Alessandro headphones

During the driver milling process, the original baffles are left unsuitable for reuse. As result an ultra-dense glass-reinforced polymer was chosen as the ideal replacement material. Its strength and damping are many times beyond regular polymers. Together, these properties ensure the response of the driver is clean and pure without the undesirable sonic colorations associated with ordinary plastic.

The ultimate upgrade for Grado/Alessandro headphones

A major concern in headphone design is minute vibration of the ear-cup assembly during playback. Like the sound chamber, the supporting structure must be equally rigid.

Elegant and slender, the new support design is optimized to accommodate the all-aluminum chambers and mate seamlessly with the original headband. Mounting rods are swapped for thicker versions, allowing a slight increase in friction needed to support the new assembly.

Following the completion of acoustic testing finished driver assemblies are secured in their aluminum cups using stainless-steel machine screws. This step ensures rigid mounting and damping of the driver assemblies. A finishing touch in the distinctive quality behind the Magnum enhancement.
