Your original headphone has its plastic chambers removed and replaced with all-aluminum designs. We have not simply duplicated the original part; it has been engineered to allow greater air volume behind the headphone driver to extend low frequency response.
Aluminum materials are pretreated using a special anodizing method optimized to increase surface porosity. This process helps reduce ringing by absorption and damping of undesirable vibrations. The result is an ultra-strong headphone assembly with perfect resonance control. Click here to discover why aluminum was selected as the material of choice in the Magnum enhancement.
Following the removal of plastic assemblies, we extract the existing drivers and carefully mill away excess plastic until we are left with the exposed driver surface – a process of delicate precision as the driver is permanently bonded to its plastic assembly.
Once the driver has been carefully milled, we use a special solution to remove the manufacturer’s original “destressing” compound. The goal of the new coating is to offer appropriate damping while being feather-light in order to promote ideal transient response. Drivers are verified throughout production to ensure they maintain 0.05db matching. Find out more about our coating technology.
